Creating a Connection
Yia sas! For those of you who don't know me, my name is Valerie Eckart, and I’d like to welcome you to my website. I created this site as a means to share my experiences as well as raise money while studying in Thessaloniki, Greece. During my time abroad (beginning January 2009) I plan on posting weekly updates to keep everyone up to date. Prior to my departure, I will be blogging on a monthly basis to detail my ideas and plans in preparing for six months in a foreign country.
Upon earning a scholarship from the International Affairs and Study Abroad Program I am preparing to go to school for one semester in Thessaloniki, Greece. This was made possible through the Honors Program at Park University. This program has been an empowering step in my education. The process of being selected as the recipient of this scholarship was demanding, yet, rewarding. This scholarship covers the cost of tuition and a few basics; however, this will be an expensive trip. Help support me by leaving some encouraging words via the guestbook. I thank you in advance for your encouragement and really appreciate your generosity. If interested in monetary support, please note "Help Support Me & Contact Info".
